US authorities on Tuesday said FBI has disrupted a malware named 'Snake' that was used by Russia's Federal Security Service to spy in at least 50 countries for around 20 years. The sophisticated malware operated through a network of compromised computers, authorities stated. Under operation MEDUSA, FBI created a tool that caused the malware "to overwrite its own vital components".
