Man announces 'iPhone Langar' in Punjab; police stop event over stampede risk

Chandigarh Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav has disallowed a proposed "iPhone Langar" announced for September 22 by an Amritsar-based businessman. He cited the risk of a large gathering that could lead to a stampede-like situation. The businessman had announced the giveaway on social media, saying iPhone 17 and higher models would be distributed as "prasad" in Chandigarh and Mohali.
