A 30-year-old man was arrested in Assam for allegedly cheating people on the pretext of providing them jobs. The accused, identified as Dipjyoti Das, pretended to be an employee of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and demanded money from people by promising them jobs at the company's Noonmati unit in Assam. He had duped 31 people of ₹2.5 crore, police said.
