Man can't be ordered to pay maintenance to estranged wife beyond means: Delhi court

A Delhi court ordered that a man can't be ordered to pay maintenance to his estranged wife beyond his means. A woman approached the court, challenging a magistrate's order awarding her ₹1,840/month under the Domestic Violence Act. The Delhi court said on September 1 that maintenance must be assessed according to the spouse's actual or presumed income.
