Man fined ₹1.20 crore for cutting 2 teak trees in Madhya Pradesh

A 30-year-old tribal man has been fined ₹1.20 crore for allegedly cutting two teak trees at Singori Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen district. Forest ranger Mahendra Singh said the fine was calculated on the basis of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education study, according to which a tree gives benefits of about ₹60 lakh during its life span.
