Man kills 8-year-old son, attempts suicide after wife leaves them

A man in Gujarat's Chhota Udepur strangled his eight-year-old son, dumped his body in water-filled pit and attempted suicide by slashing throat. Identified as Jayeshbhai Nayaka, the man was hospitalised with serious injuries and was reported to be critical. Police said he had been living alone with his son after his wife left home. Police are examining the family's circumstances.
