A 56-year-old former tech worker named Stein-Erik Soelberg from US' Connecticut killed his mother and died by suicide after ChatGPT encouraged his delusions and his belief that his family and others were turning against him. The AI chatbot told him that his mother might be spying on him. It also suggested she had attempted to poison him with psychedelic drug.
