A retired bank manager in Hyderabad was cheated of over ₹5 lakh by a man posing as an electricity department executive. The victim, who paid his electricity bill online, received a call from fraudster saying the payment was not updated and suggested downloading an app. After downloading it, victim entered his debit card details and within half-an-hour lost his money.
