A 60-year-old man in the US sought diet advice from ChatGPT, after which he replaced sodium chloride with sodium bromide in his diet. Three months later, he developed paranoia, hallucinations, and refused to drink water despite feeling thirsty. He was eventually hospitalised with bromide intoxication. A report of his case was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine Clinical Cases.
