Mandya jail 'rate card' letter goes viral

A viral letter allegedly signed by 15 undertrial prisoners at Mandya District Prison claims inmates were charged fixed amounts for different cells, room changes and release from punishment cells. It also alleges paid arrangements for mutton and chicken. Prison authorities said the letter was not handed over during a recent inspection and that its authenticity and allegations will be verified.
