On January 16, an incident of animal cruelty was reported in Hosanagara taluk, Karnataka, where Wazid allegedly killed a dog by throwing a large stone at its head. A local resident filmed the act and shared the footage with Maneka Gandhi and the Animal Welfare Board. Gandhi subsequently wrote to Senior Veterinary Officer and SP GK Mithun Kumar, urging them to take action against the accused.
