India's first interplanetary mission Mangalyaan was developed at a budget of $74 million (₹450 crore), making it the cheapest Mars Mission in the world . Mangalyaan's cost was less than Hollywood space adventure film Gravity, made with $100 million (nearly ₹600 crore) and approximately one-tenth of the NASA's Maven explorer. India's Mars Orbiter Mission was launched on November 5, 2013.
