Two earthquakes of magnitudes 5.7 and 4.1 struck Manipur within an hour on Wednesday, with epicentres in Kamjong district, according to IMD. The first quake hit at 11.06 am, followed by another at 12.20 pm. An official from a central government office near Imphal airport said, "We felt the first earthquake in our office." Cracks were reported in several buildings.
