Manipur’s Environment and Climate Change Directorate has mapped over 1,000 springs, identifying 173 critical ones in Ukhrul and Noney for revival. The state has also mapped 71 wetlands, with rejuvenation work underway. Officials stressed urgent springshed management to protect water security in hill areas and promote sustainable environmental governance.
