Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis-led government today passed the Maratha Reservation Bill and created a new SEBC (Socially and Economically Backward) category as per the recommendation of Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission. The Bill will likely be tabled during the Winter Parliament Session of the Legislative Assembly. Maratha community is demanding reservation in education and jobs.
