The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Maria Corina Machado. She has received the prize for "her tireless work promoting democratic rights for people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy." In 2024, Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Nihon Hidankyo, a Japanese organisation of atomic bomb survivors.
