Markings on 20,000-year-old Ice Age drawings decoded for the first time

Markings found on 20,000-year-old Ice Age drawings in caves across Europe have been decoded for the first time ever. These markings, which include lines, dots and 'Y' marks, were made by hunter-gatherers alongside depictions of prey animals. They recorded animal behaviour "critical" to people's survival, such as mating and birthing, a study published in the Cambridge Archaeological Journal said.
