Mars full of toxic chemicals that can wipe out life: Study

Experiments with compounds found in Martian soil show Mars harbours a "toxic cocktail" of chemicals that can wipe out living organisms. The findings suggest Mars missions would have to dig deep underground to find possible life or its traces. NASA's lander-rover missions have earlier found perchlorates, which break down into toxic chemicals in presence of UV radiation, prevalent on Mars.
