Masks made mandatory in Kerala amid COVID surge, violation punishable

Amid rise in COVID-19 cases, the Kerala government on Wednesday made wearing of masks mandatory. In its latest order, the government has said that any violation to the rule will be punishable. State Health Minister Veena George had earlier said that the government would "continue to remain vigilant since other states are reporting an increase in the number of cases".
