A large-scale demolition drive began near Bandra East railway station in Mumbai on Tuesday as authorities started removing around 400 unauthorised houses. The action followed permission granted by Bombay High Court to Western Railway to clear alleged illegal structures on railway land. Videos showed heavy police deployment in the area while bulldozers razed the hutments.
