A massive fire erupted at central warehouse of CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST) in Jorhat, Assam on Thursday night. The blaze was accompanied by a series of loud explosions. The warehouse housed a large quantity of chemical materials and research items. Witnesses reported hearing more than ten explosions in quick succession, which raised alarm among nearby residents.
