Massive floods hit southern Germany, five killed

Five people died and thousands were evacuated in southern Germany due to heavy rainfall and flooding. Senior officials warned that the climate crisis would worsen extreme weather, while the German weather service forecast no more heavy rainfall. The armed forces deployed 800 personnel for rescue. River Danube, especially near Regensburg, remains concern for rescue efforts with high water levels.
