The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it has "strongly taken up" the matter of eggs thrown at a Rath Yatra procession in Canada's Toronto. "Such despicable acts are regrettable and are against the spirit of the festival, which seeks to promote unity...social harmony," said MEA. It said it hoped action will be taken to protect religious rights of people.
