Senior Indian Information Service officer Maushumi Chakravarty has assumed the charge of Director General of Akashvani News. A 1991-batch IIS officer, Chakravarty has a vast experience of working in several media organisations of the I&B Ministry, including Press Information Bureau and Central Bureau of Communication, stated a release from the PIB.
