Former Janata Dal (Secular) Spokesperson Tanveer Ahmed said that Biocon's Executive Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw helped the JD(S) campaign by donating money individually, not from Biocon. He said, "Biocon didn't give us any money, but your donation really helped us." This comes after the Election Commission's data showed that Mazumdar-Shaw purchased bonds worth ₹6 crore.
