McDonald's is dropping tomatoes from its menu in North and East India. While the decision comes amid a sharp rise in tomato prices across India, the company said it has been unable to procure tomatoes that pass their "world-class, stringent quality check". Tomato prices have reached ₹250/kg in Uttarakhand and are around ₹120-₹160 per kg in other states.
