The Meghalaya government has dropped defamation cases against media outlets and individuals over remarks made after the Sohra incident. Minister Paul Lyngdoh said public apologies from major media houses and the victim’s family met the government’s demand. FIRs were filed earlier, but with apologies issued, the matter is now considered closed, he added.
