Meghalaya Zoo welcomes its 1st stump-tailed macaque baby

Meghalaya State Zoo recorded the birth of a stump-tailed macaque, marking first successful breeding of the endangered species at zoo, officials said on Friday. The newborn was delivered through captive breeding efforts after a breeding pair was brought from Mizoram's Aizawl Zoological Park under an animal exchange programme. Notably, the species is native to Northeast India and Southeast Asia.
