The Centre is reportedly likely to choose a fact-checking team led by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to verify any government-related information that is published on social media. As per Economic Times, the three-member body will have two MeitY officials and a third independent member. Reportedly, the Centre had earlier identified PIB as the preferred agency.
