In Denganmal, a village 140 km from Mumbai suffering from water shortage, some men are resorting to 'water-wives' to provide enough drinking water to their households. These men marry again, usually to widows or single mothers, who then carry water for them from a distant well. The water-wife doesn't usually share the marital bed but is only for water collection.
