A study by ICAR– Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) West Garo Hills has found that Mengkari honey, produced by stingless bees reared by Garo communities, meets national and international quality standards. With low moisture, high purity and safe HMF levels, the traditional forest honey shows strong potential for FSSAI certification, premium markets and sustainable rural livelihoods in Meghalaya.
