A study in The Lancet Regional Health-Europe reveals that mental health conditions like schizophrenia, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder can nearly double the risk of heart disease and early death. Researchers stress integrated care, as over 40% of heart patients also have mental disorders, worsening prognosis and access to treatment.
