Mental health app BetterHelp shared private user data for ads: FTC

US-based BetterHelp will pay $7.8 million to customers to settle a matter with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that accused the mental health app of sharing private user data with third parties for ads. BetterHelp shared data with companies including Facebook, Snapchat and Pinterest, FTC said. The app, however, said the settlement was not an admission of wrongdoing.
