German Chancellor Merz visits Kyiv, pledges €1.3 bn aid to Ukraine

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited Kyiv on Sunday, urging Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the "senseless war". Alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, he announced a €1.3 billion support package, €1 billion in military aid and €350 million for energy repairs. The two nations signed 15 agreements worth €8.5 billion, including joint drone and long-range weapons development.
