Facebook and Instagram's parent company Meta has recorded the biggest-ever one-day increase in a company's market value. The social media group's market capitalisation increased by $197 billion to $1.2 trillion after it closed 20.3% higher on Friday. Meta surpassed the previous record that saw Amazon and Apple each jump about $190 billion in a single day in 2022.
