After cutting roughly 600 jobs in its AI division, Meta is now encouraging the laid-off employees to apply for roles in other departments and said it will continue hiring selectively for key AI positions. Notably, Meta’s newly formed TBD Lab, which includes many of its highest-paid new AI recruits, has been retained. Meta said the layoffs are a restructuring move.
