A group of anonymous plaintiffs in US, who filed their taxes online in 2020 using H&R Block, has sued Meta. The group accused the company of violating users' trust and privacy. In November, an investigation by the publication Markup revealed that US tax filing services like H&R Block, TaxAct and TaxSlayer have been secretly sending sensitive financial information to Meta.
