Meta spokesperson Andy Stone has said the company will consider removing news from Facebook altogether if US passes Journalism Competition and Preservation Act. The bill would give news outlets more power to negotiate fees for their content on platforms like Facebook and Google. It "unfairly disregards any value we provide to news outlets through increased traffic and subscriptions", Stone said.
