Meta to invest ₹8,500 crore in CRED, Founder Kunal Shah to become WhatsApp global CEO

Fintech startup CRED has raised around $900 million (about ₹8,500 crore) in a fresh funding round from Meta. As part of the investment, CRED Founder Kunal Shah is joining Meta to lead WhatsApp globally. Meanwhile, Miten Sampat has been appointed interim CRED CEO. "I'm stepping away from the operating role and will continue as a shareholder," Shah said.
