A 20-year-old man was seriously injured after a metal rod fell from the under-construction side of a metro in Mumbai, went through the roof of the autorickshaw he was in and pierced his head. The man was taken to the hospital. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) expressed "deep regret" over the incident and imposed ₹50 lakh fine on contractor.
