Mexico’s anti-money laundering agency has accused ex-President Enrique Peña Nieto of managing millions of dollars in illicit funds. This is the first formal legal accusation against Nieto whose term in office from 2012 to 2018 was clouded by reports of corruption. Though a criminal complaint has been filed against Nieto by the government, prosecutors are yet to file formal charges.
