A lab built by Microsoft at its headquarters in Washington, US, is the 'Quietest place on Earth', as recognised by the Guinness World Records. The company built the anechoic chamber for audio and device testing, and reported -20.35 dBA average background noise. An anechoic room is insulated from exterior noise sources and designed to completely absorb reflections of sounds inside.
