Microsoft once invested $150 million in near-bankrupt Apple

In 1997, ousted CEO Steve Jobs returned to Apple and saved it from near bankruptcy by bringing in a $150-million investment from rival Bill Gates-led Microsoft. Mac got Microsoft Office support in exchange for making Internet Explorer its default browser. Jobs then famously said, "We've to let go of this notion that for Apple to win, Microsoft has to lose."
