Microsoft announced that it's building a 'metaverse' within its videoconferencing platform, Teams, where people can collaborate in a virtual environment using 3D digital avatars. Users will be able to access Mesh for Teams, that'll be rolled out in 2022, using a smartphone or a VR headset or HoloLens. It's designed to make online meetings "more personal and fun", Microsoft said.
