Microsoft announced it will sell its stake in Israeli facial recognition startup AnyVision, which was accused by media and then cleared by an audit, of fueling a mass surveillance program of Palestinians in occupied West Bank. Microsoft will also no longer make minority investments in firms selling face-recognition tech. Last year, it participated in a $74-million funding round for AnyVision.
