Microsoft has introduced a new threat actor naming taxonomy wherein hackers will be named after weather events like storms, floods, typhoons, blizzards and sandstorms. A weather event represents either a nation-state actor attribution or a motivation, Microsoft said. Giving an example of the system, Microsoft stated that 'Typhoon' indicates origin or attribution to China.
