Microsoft will remove WordPad, initially launched in August 1995, and People apps from the Windows 11 operating system. In the Windows Insider Preview Build 26020, Microsoft said the two apps will no longer be installed after doing a clean install of the OS. "In a future flight, WordPad will be removed on upgrade. WordPad won't be reinstall-able," Microsoft added.
