Microsoft is training an in-house AI large language model (LLM) to compete with models released by OpenAI, in which it invested $10 billion, and Google, The Information reported. The new model, internally called MAI-1, is being overseen by Mustafa Suleyman, Co-founder of Google DeepMind and Inflection AI. MAI-1 will have 500 billion settings to determine what it learns during training.
