Microsoft-used AI data centre accused of running without permits

DataOne, New Jersey's largest planned AI data centre, has allegedly operated dozens of gas generators without required federal permits, according to The Guardian. Thermal footage showed 45 of 62 generators running at its Vineland facility, which supplies AI computing to Microsoft through a $17 billion Nebius deal. Former EPA official Bruce Buckheit said operations could violate federal law.
