Born in the small village of Hansi, Haryana, Anil Gupta started as a computer and electronics teacher. He quit his job and started a mono computers company, Microtek, in 1989. Overtime Microtek grew to LED displays, colour monitors, inverters and UPS. To supply batteries and inverters, he started Okaya in 2001. Today, Microtek and Okaya are worth ₹50,000 crore.
